Learn more about the creative workshops from Katie:

“I love to share my great passion and love for painting, and skills developed over 25 years of art practice.

Creativity is essential to your happiness. It has the power to improve your life every day. I believe that creatives are both born and made, and anyone can develop and nurture their creativity with practice.

I have developed a two hour workshop whereby participants can prepare, create and review their work in one session. My aim is to fill the hearts and minds of workshop participants with the simple joy and wonder of painting, to establish a sense of pride in achievement, accept the flow and organic nature of painting, to appreciate the unique skills of ourselves and others, overcome common fears associated with creativity, build resilience, and to share this beautiful creative journey with friends or friendly fellow creatives they meet on the day.

  • In small groups of max 12 participants, attendees will learn a range of watercolour and ink techniques, tips and tricks. Watercolours will flow effortlessly and elegantly.
  • Participants will practice working with a vibrant, carefully selected colour palette to achieve professional looking results. At the end if the session, attendees will have created a magnificent, ready to frame watercolour masterpieces on fine art paper and canvas.
  • The workshop will increase confidence in participants’ abilities, help develop their own unique style, and all will feel more comfortable about engaging in future creative activities, and establishing a painting practice for fun and relaxation. A list of materials will be available to attendees after the workshop to support their ongoing practice.
  • No experience is necessary. The workshop will cater for all levels of proficiency, from absolute beginners to experienced artists keen to practice and learn new skills. I will provide step by step guidance, feedback and encouragement to all attendees, and help alleviate any apprehension around creating artwork and watercolour and ink techniques.

Location: The Project Space, 2/53 Keys Road Moorabbin

Plenty of on site parking is available. Please wear clothing that can get a little painty.

Materials: participants will use artist professional grade materials, A4 cold pressed textured 180gsm+ watercolour paper and a triple primed, double thick 12x12” canvas stretched across kiln dried pine. High quality paper and materials produce superior results.

I look forward to working with you!”
